Webster define acceleration as the act or process of moving faster or happening more quickly. Whilst the direction as the course or path on which you are moving. Many of the courses of life nowadays tend to give more importance to ‘speed’ rather than the lessons that they should learn. Many give more attention to finishing it rather than learning it. Many give more value in doing it fast rather than doing it right. In reality, it is not about how fast you are or how well you started in a specific thing. Rather, it is about the direction you are heading and the destination you are going because it is not about your speed but your lead. Yet, sometimes, we condemn or judge people easily because of the speed that they have, especially in their education. We question their ability to work and to finish well because of the speed they are showing which is being rebuked in this statement which provides respect to the less accelerated as long as it goes to the right direction. And always remember, if you see someone taking their time in education yet they have the direction, let them be. Be their cheerer and encouragement. Fuel their passion and motivate them more. Maybe that is what they need to accelerate a bit. Affirm them. Moreover, if you are the one who is having a less speed and acceleration, remind yourself that it is okay to be slowed down, it is fine seeing others moving faster than you. You have your own pace. Do not compare and enjoy the lesson in between. Life is not just a race; it is a journey. A journey with God that fills up your life with purpose and meaning. A journey of life which requires no comparison but having the same destination. A journey of your own which gives importance to the direction rather than the acceleration. As the book of Proverbs said Obey God, put your trust and confidence in Him. He will hold you; He will carry you; He will protect you. With Him you are never stopped, with Him you are never lost, with Him dreams are being reached and with Him purpose is being lived. Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. And as the book of Proverbs say “Trust the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. Always acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will make your paths straight”.
